Pitt County is marking a major milestone in its commitment to sustainability with the launch of a new state-of-the-art recycling and materials recovery facility.

Officials and representatives from Recycling and Disposal Solutions (RDS) gathered Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the upgraded site, which is now equipped with cutting-edge automated sorting technology.
